He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Kendle Carey and Georgia Ethel Newman Carey; his wife Ruth Evelyn Carey; and his brothers, Keith K. Carey and Bobby L. Carey.
He is survived by: his sons, Ray Edwin Carey (Amy Otto), David Eugene Carey (Mary), Warren Lee Carey (Theresa) and Douglas Earl Carey (Julie); and his siblings, Kay Malcolm (Richard) and Larry Carey (Barbara). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
