He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father George W.; his grandmother L. Rector Harner; his wife Carol Harner (Summerville); his sons, Cary Harner (Traci) and Stephen Harner (Jody); his grandchildren, Halie Harner and Breckin Harner; his nieces, Debbie Garringer (Neal Bradds) and Mary Moon (Hal); his nephew David Tidd (LaCinda); his sister Barbara Tidd; his brother-in-law Moe Tidd; and his nephew Danny Tidd.
