He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ray and Dorothy Ray. He is survived by: his wife Donna Marie Ray; his sons, Patrick Ray (Dominique) and Jeff Ray (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, James, Madeline, Lucas, Sidney and William Ray.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in honor of James Joseph Ray.
