It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Zimmerly Shoup of Sterling, Ohio, who passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dennis Zimmerly and Edna Zimmerly (Blough); her husband Arthur Shoup; her siblings, Evelyn Zimmerly, Anna Detweiler and Jacob Zimmerly; and her siblings-in-law, Rudy Detweiler and Ila Zimmerly.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Sharon Sommers, Dolores Shoup, Stephen Shoup, Philip Shoup, Barbara Cook and Eleanor Shoup; her siblings, Twila Zimmerly and Dennis Zimmerly (Lois); and her siblings' children, Sandy Hanzie, Terry Zimmerly (Karen), Scott Zimmerly (Heather), Randy Zimmerly (Cyndie), Mike Zimmerly (Diane), Doug Zimmerly and Joy Ziegler (Brian). She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
