He was predeceased by: his parents, Angel Lopez Garcia and Maria Dolores Lopez Castro. He is survived by: his children, Gabriel Lopez-Candales and Ashley Barlak; his son-in-law Matthew Barlak; his wife Hilda Lopez-Candales; and his granddaughter Olivia Grace Barlak.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Cleveland as a tribute to his memory.
