He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Gardner and Mary Gardner (Newell); his stepfather Lewis Masters; his son-in-law Mel J. Yoder; his brother William "Billie" Gardner (Mary); and also Harry.

He is survived by : his wife Doris Wingeier; his daughters, Linda Karcher (Jim) of Dover and Gail Maag of Sugarcreek; his grandchildren, Angela Miller (Doug) of Dover, Mike Yoder (Amy) of Sugarcreek, Mark Yoder (Lisa) of Dover and Matt Yoder (Meegan) of New Philadelphia; his great grandchildren, Alicia, Justin Miller, Andarah Yoder, Ella, Elena and Elliott Yoder; his stepgrandchildren, Jeannie Tanner (Dan) of Plymouth and Bill Karcher (Shannon) of Malvern; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Maggie, Lauren, Claire, Sam, Leah, Tanner and Tynne. He is also survived by great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many very good friends.

Friends may call on Thursday 5-7 PM at the funeral home with masks being required and social distancing being observed.
