He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter "Bud" Hockenberry and Jackie Hockenberry (Flowers); his former wife Julie Hockenberry; and his siblings, Terry Hockenberry, Patty Phillips and Debbie Sigman.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Roberts of Tiffin; and his children, Crystal Baker of Ashland, Kasandra Hockenberry of Marietta, Michael Tule, Cory Foster, Matthew Tule and Christopher of Foster.
