He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Peterson and Doris Peterson (Kamm); and his wife Kay. He is survived by: his children, Kristina Bates (William) and Kyle Peterson; his sisters, Leona Stivers and Jean Medlen (Mike); and his son Hayden. He is also survived by 4 nieces and a nephew, many cousins and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David's name are suggested to Humane Society of Toledo or Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
