He was predeceased by: his siblings, Readus, Henry Jr., Jean and Hattie Marie; and his sons-in-law, Mike Ellington and Marshall Harris.

He is survived by: his wife Edith Luttrell (Vaught); his daughters, Linda Ellington and Susan Harris; his grandchildren, Chris Ellington (Teresa), Larry Ellington and Laura Willis (Cody); and his great grandchildren, Brianna, Larzen, Josiah and Dylan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
