Richard John Hanley Obituary

We are sad to announce that on August 17, 2020, at the age of 89, Richard John Hanley (Toledo, Ohio) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Harold, Joseph, Donald Hanley and Patricia Weiss. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Dick and Ruth; his children, Ruth Hanley (Jeff Seever) of Baltimore, Ohio, Marcia Myers (John) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Karen Connors (Alan Rehmar) of Columbus, Ohio, Sarah Croak (Tim) of Toledo, Rick Hanley (Amy) of Summit, N. J. and Susan Rooney (Shawn) of Toledo; and his sister Joan Klear-Caprio of Ocala, Fla.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

While he volunteered with numerous organizations and received numerous honors through the years, in 2001 he received the award of which he was perhaps most proud: the St. Marguerite d'Youville Humanitarian Award from the Sisters of Charity of Montreal, known as the Grey Nuns.
