He is survived by: his mother Ruth Harris; his stepfather Jim Harris; and his children, Kristie Medina (Alex), Carey Spitler (Jeff), Bryan Schmidt Jelinger (Kelli), Nicholas Schmidt and Richard "Andy" Schmidt (Dayna). He is also survived by six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
