He was predeceased by : his parents, Eugene Hobson and Almeater Hobson; his siblings, Eddie L., John Hobson, Alpha Mae McGriff (late Charles) and Annie Ruth Grant (late Jessie); and his grandson Jerlontay Hobson.

He is survived by : his close friend Tamyra Hobson; his children, Vonda Walker (Dennis Sr.) of Jackson, MS., Sandra Hobson Rucker, Deborah Donnell of Byram, MS., Syreeta Onyeaghala and Charles I. S. Muwallif; his siblings, Albert Hobson (Linda) of Dayton, Ohio., Vincent Hobson (Pat) of Dayton, Ohio., Ruby Jean Watson of Pelahatchie, Minnie Pearl Bennett (late H. C.) of Pelahatchie and Mary Alice King (late Earnest) of Indianapolis, Indiana.; and his grandchildren, Shantrice Williams, David Strickland Jr., Dennis, Kahlil, Justin Walker, Frank J. Hobson (Carlene), Amanda Smith, Tamiya C., Sophia, Carleigh R, Muwallif, Amaryah Day and Alisha Morris. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other friends.
