He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Getter and Thelma Getter; his son Mark Getter; and his brother Larry Getter. He is survived by: his daughter Julie Sheplar; his stepdaughters, Angela Vargas and Nicole Heil; and his grandchildren, Amanda Benton, Leanna Benton, David Dancer, Erika Getter, Mia Getter, Rachel Williams, Haley McClure, Nicholas Heil, Douglas Robinson and Zachary Robinson. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives including sisters, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
