He was predeceased by: his father Ottis Newman; his wife JoAnne Newman; and his brother Arnold Newman (Sandy). He is survived by: his sons, Ken Newman (Kim) and Dennis Newman (Heather); his grandchildren, Drake (Ashley), Damond, Josh (Sarah) and Hanna; and his sister Janice Ervin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Lowell's honor.
