With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George R. Kern Sr. (Waldo, Ohio), who passed away on August 13, 2018 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent Albert Kern; his wife Claribel Darlene Kern (Shafer); and his siblings, John F. Kern, Sarah Bennett, Mary Balyat and Polly Headley.

He is survived by: his parent Mae Kern (Lehner); his children, Mary Gross, George R. Kern Jr (Kim) and Benjamin D. Kern; his grandchildren, Mary Tripp (Mike), Norman Gross (Katie), Brandyn Kern, Bryant Kern, Chelsey Kern and George R. Kern III; his great grandchildren, Geordi Hall and Jay Tripp; and his sibling David Kern (Beverly) of Lois Voss. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
