He was predeceased by : his parents, George Melvin and Mabel Marie Ward (Johnson); and his siblings, Carolyn Queen, Jenny Cane, Joe Ward, Jake Ward and Charles Ward.

He is survived by : his significant other Brenda Jean Wyatt; his son Danny Lee, Jr. Ward (Hope); his grandchildren, Bryson Hunter Ward and Mya Ann Ward; and his brother Melvin Ward (Julie). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
