He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Walls and Juanita (Leeth); and his brother Gary Pinkerman. He is survived by: his wife Jeane Walls (Burton); his sister Beverly Jordan of Piketon; his daughters, Dixie Smith (Earl) of Bainbridge, Tina Shepherd (Tracey) of Waverly, Steph Stevens (Jeff) of Piketon, Judy Mackey of Waverly and Crystal Lansing (Brian) of Piketon; and his stepchildren, Greg Leeth (Teresa) of Waverly and Gina Tuttle (Ryan) of Waverly. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
