He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Moorman and Edith Moorman; and his brother Charles Boebinger. He is survived by: his daughter Pam; his wife Irene Boebinger; his daughters, Pamela Geers (William), Melanie Geers (Christopher) and Kimberly Kirsch; his brother Glenn Boebinger (Mary); and his grandchildren, William Geers (Treasure), Andrew Geers (Jennifer), Matthew Geers (Kristin), Christopher Geers Jr. (Laurel), Sandra Geers (Jeremy), Daniel Geers (Anne) and Thomas Kirsch. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.

Memorial donations may be made in David's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the Walk to End Alzheimers under the team name Dave's Daughters.
