She was predeceased by : her parents, Thelma Marie Hicks and Edgar Lydia McCarty; and her siblings, Evelyn "Sis" Buttrick, Mellicenia "Faye" Breeden, Ernest McCarty and Tommy Withrow.

She is survived by : her husband Danny Skaggs; her children, Allen McCall (Lydia), Tammy Melfi, Tonya Brandstetter (Herby), Deanna Bumgardner (John) and Stephanie Hitzeman (Terry); her son-in-law Mike Melfi; her grandchildren, Candice Metzger (Justin), Danielle Brandstetter, Kyle Brandstetter (Effy), Travis, Shane, Maggie Bumgardner, Alaina and Adam Hitzeman; her great grandchildren, Iris Brandstetter, Eve and Lane Metzger; and her siblings, Harold "Buddy" McCarty and Brenda Pitchford (Tom).
