He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Clarence and Golda Ellen Plank (Yoder); his mother-in-law Mary Lou Smucker; his son-in-law Neil Hostetler; and his siblings, Lydia Elizabeth "Libby" Geil, Sarah Jeanette Hostetler and Robert L. Plank.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pam Webb (Doug) of West Liberty, Sandy Muth (Ed) of Bellefontaine, Lisa Fortney (Kim) of Idaho, Jane Steen (Todd) of California and Rosie Nafziger (Brent) of Indiana; his grandchildren, Cherie (Sig), Rama, Heidi Myers (Andy), Jill Foster (Eric), Cortney Oakley (Nick), Jerrod Hostetler, Kevin Fortney (Brea), Matt Fortney (Abbie), Zac Steen, Jake Steen, Riley Andrews (Nate) and Dylan Nafziger; and his sister Mary Kay King. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
