He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Wilkins; his parents, Henry Wilkins and Lillie Mae Wilkins; his sons, Phillip Wilkins and Allen Wilkins; and his brothers, Otis, Howard and Willard Wilkins.

He is survived by: his children, Fred T. Wilkins (Laura) and Marcia Shaffer (Jim).
