It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty J Dougherty of Zanesville, Ohio, born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on April 22, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Betty departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Betty may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear and the legacy Betty leaves behind.

She was predeceased by : her parents, C. A. "Doc" Dougherty and Laura Dougherty (Vanzant); and her sisters-in-law, Mary Dougherty and Mary Beth Dougherty. She is survived by : her daughter Michelle Benoist; her son-in-law Jeff; her grandsons, Josh and Brandon of Flower Mound, Texas; and her brothers, Bill Dougherty of Zanesville and Robert Dougherty of Norwich, Ohio. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery (1475 Military Rd #111, Zanesville, OH 43701).
