He was predeceased by: his parents, Vaughn McWherter and Mary Colburn McWherter; his brother Neil McWherter; and his granddaughter Laine Grace Border. He is survived by: his wife Connie McWherter (Dawson); his sons, Colburn McWherter, Bret Border (Julie) and Bart Border (Abbey); his grandchildren, Clay, Ava, Brody, Brock and Luke; his sister Paula Schandel (McWherter); his sister-in-law Jane Murphy (John); and his sibling's children, Paul Schandel, Laura Warner (Schandel) and Tina Smith (Davis).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the North Terrace Church of Christ (1420 Brandywine Blvd, Zanesville, OH 43701). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
