Valerie Layne Hickman Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Valerie Layne Hickman of Zanesville, Ohio, who passed away on October 18, 2020, at the age of 20, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her grandparents, Leo "Burky" Burkhart and Brenda Blosser Arrigan; her brother Grant Alan Hickman; and her cousins, Miles Nessline and Rowe Burkhart.

She is survived by : her parents, Bret Hickman and Beth Hickman (Burkhart); her grandparents, Ann Burkhart and Lanny G. Hickman of Zanesville; her aunts and uncles, Deron Hickman of Colorado Springs, CO, Linda Burkhart, Mike Burkhart (Cathy), Nancy Nash (Joe), Pat Burkhart (Becky), Anita Nessline (Greg), Elaine Pellatt (Joe), Jeanette Weinberg (David), Kent Burkhart (Wendy), Dean Burkhart (Erin) and Keith Burkhart (Heather); her great-aunt Mary King of Trinway; her great-uncle Bill Blosser (Kitty) of Newark, OH; and her cousins, Darby Rogers (Tyler), Evan Arthur (Miranda), Adam Burkhart (Kali), Malia Hatem (Mark), Ian Burkhart (Allison), Jenna Burkhart, Alex Nash (Mikaela), Kelsey Graves, Megan Nash, Andrea Berardi (Christian), Heidi Burkhart, Addie, Alana Nessline, Blair, Raylin Pellatt, Todd Weinberg (April), Ross Weinberg, Sidney, Shae Burkhart, Owen, Case Burkhart, Drew and Kate Burkhart.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family asks that masks be worn and social distancing protocol observed.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to The Hickman Foundation, Muskingum County Community Foundation, 534 Putnam Ave, Zanesville, OHIO 43701 a scholarship will be set up in Valerie's memory.
