He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Mitchell (Stafford) and Hubert "Shag" Mitchell; his wives, Betty Mitchell and Norma Jean Mitchell; and his grandson Elzie Cain.
He is survived by: his sons, Mike (Lori) of Lone Grove and Rick Mitchell (Debbie) of Liberty Hill, TX; and his grandchildren, Ricky Mitchell (Abby), Crystal Mitchell, Mark Mitchell (Teresa), Chad Mitchell (Robin), Chelsie Dickson (Jordan), Heather Hegwood (Travis) and Kandice Cain. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren; and 6 bonus great grandchildren.
