He is survived by: his wife Patricia McNeely; his children, Dr. Alan Upchurch (Robin) of McKinney, TX and Paula Pfau (Doug) of Ardmore, OK.; his grandchildren, J. W. Cox of Allen, TX, Mary Beth Swofford (Jeff) of Phoenix, AZ, Chase Upchurch of Allen, TX, Caroline Upchurch (Brian Hager) of McKinney, TX, Dr. Sadie Hlavenka (Devin) of Ardmore, OK, Dr. Savannah Caro (Mick) of Newcastle, OK., Nancy Lehman (Derek), Allyson Ulucay (Kagan) of Austin, TX and Robin George (Daris) of Ardmore, OK; his great grandchildren, Ester Sofia, Lucy Carin Lehman, Shiloh Clarity, Loyal Daris George and Etta Ulucay; and his sibling's children, Ashley Rutledge (Chad) of Magnolia, TX, Karl Pulliam of Edmond, OK, Keck Upchurch (Sylvia) of Edmond, OK, Jean Ann Parker of Tahlequah, Jana Muesegaes (Bob) of Tahlequah and Jill Crawford (Steve) of Tahlequah.
He moved to Ardmore, married Patricia McNeely, and went to work for the Noble Foundation, where he worked for 32 years as a Research Biologist before the Bio-Medical division closed in 1993.
