He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Powell and Pearl Powell (Dodson); his brothers, RJ Powell (Vera), Glenn Powell (Barbra), Ray Powell (Mary), Joe Powell (Carolyn) and Jack Powell (Clessie); and his sister-in-law Gloria Powell.
He is survived by: his brothers, Noel Powell (Bonnie) of Atoka, OK and Bill Powell of Washington; his close friend Shawn Montgomery; his sons, Donnie Powell (Sandy) of California, Kenny Powell of California and Ricky Powell of California; and the mother of his children Katherine Karr of California. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
