He was predeceased by: his father Charles. He is survived by: his wife Michelle (Hankinson); his children, Nate and Ashley; his mother Robin; and his siblings, Charlie (Mary) and Maryce. He is also survived by numerous brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces/nephews and uncles/aunts.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to honor Rod's love for animals and commitment to the community by making contributions to the SPCA or Catholic Charities.
