He was predeceased by : his parents, Loyd Edward and Lena Adeline Mitchell (Bartmass); his daughter Mary Ann Mitchell; and his sister Gloria Martinez. He is survived by : his wife Linda Deviney; his son Lyndol Mitchell (Jamie); his grandson Evan; his adoptive sons, Leslie Wheeler and Tommy Thompson; his daughter Jessica Stewart; his grandchildren, Dakota Tipton, Brendan Stewart and Zandyn Stewart; and his siblings, Reo James Spicer, Paul Mitchell, Ann Elston and Vivian Cox. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
