He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Martin; his granddaughter Hope Shelby; his grandparents, Aubrey Davis, Ressie Moss Davis Cole, Clarence C. Nance and Bernadine Nance; and his parents-in-law, Billy and Billie Fothergill (McBride).

He is survived by: his mother Alveta Fern Nance (Davis); his sons, Aubrey L. "Junior" Nance, Billy Shelby and Chad Heffington; his wife Gina Nance; his son John Nance; his grandchildren, Faith Shelby, Lexus Shelby and Anthony Lucas; his siblings, Laressa Hutchens (Buddy), Sue Kennedy (Scott), Krystal Nance, Richard Nance (Marianne), Lyman Nance, Tim Nance (Jan) and Andy Nance (Kimberly); his brothers-in-law, John Fothergill, Stephen Fothergill, Mike Fothergill and Dwane Fothergill; and his close friends, Jamie James Boese and Raymond Yrigoyen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
