With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Thomas Whitman of Checotah, Oklahoma, born in Porum, Oklahoma, who passed away on February 21, 2021 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Whitman and Maudie Whitman (Cook); his significant other Toka Elrod; his son Harley Whitman; his grandson Jeffery Whitman; and his siblings, Charles "Bud" Whitman, Helen Whitman, Anne Bragg, Sue Lyndsey, Cleta Jane Borksky and Pasty Bennett.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Whitman of Checotah, Daniel Whitman (Raelyn) of Oktaha, Todd Whitman (Deborah) of Muskogee, Lance Whitman (Kristie) of Checotah, Deborah Gava (Mike) of Rosamond and Lisa Dotson (Paul) of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Jerry Whitman (Yvonne) of Iowa Park and Vel Gilbert of Fort Meyers Beach, Florida. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Walter "W.T" Whitman, age 82, entered heaven's gates on Sunday, February 21, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
