He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Robert and Ladema Pearl Harris (Oaks); and his brother Lee Harris (Sonny). He is survived by: his wife Mary Jean Rhine; his children, David Harris (Jann), Robin Coyle (Brady) and Tracy Hanson; his grandchildren, Whitney Brashears, William Harris, Margaret Harris, Emma Harris, Andrew Hall, Madalyn Hall and Sam Harris; and his siblings, Wilma Hinds and Douglas Harris (Velma).
