He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Purkey and Cordia Purkey; and his siblings, Bill Purkey (Wanda) and Fondella Pritchard (George). He is survived by: his wife Marjie Purkey; his children, Scott Virgil Purkey (Lynnette) and Stace Renea Purkey Morris; his grandchildren, Tiffany Gabrielle Goebel (James), Eric Scott Purkey, Ethan Scott Purkey (MacKenzie), Kirsten Joy Hughes (Andy), Kyle Coleman Morris (Braiden) and Roman Ray Morris; and his great grandchildren, Malachi Andrew Hughes, Aria Ruth Goebel, Lilliana Rose Purkey, Wyatt Christopher Hughes, Scarlett Joy Goebel, Braxton Dean West, Layla Rae Purkey and Eleighna Lynn Morris.
