He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Ray Nevel Sr. and Alice Elizabeth Burton Nevel; and his siblings, Mary Elizabeth Nevel, John William, Peggy Pilgrim, Billie Randell, Joseph Allen and David Troy.
He is survived by: his child Edward Ray Nevel III; his wife Debra; his sisters, Lynne Marie Mathews (Les), Almeda Hendrix, Onetta Webster and Rosetta Genson; and also, Linda Shieldnight (Mick), Cindy Wampler (Kelly), Cathy Berg (Stacy), John Mark Nevel (Kellie) and Laura Rogers (Rob). He is also survived by grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.
