He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Powell Buckner Sr. and Effie Kindness Buckner (Kester); his brother Boyd Holiman; and his grandsons, Colton and Maddox Buckner.
He is survived by: his wife Elise Davis-Buckner; his sisters, Allie Brown and Anna Mae Bowen; and his sons, Steven Buckner, James Buckner (Jennifer), David Buckner, Brian Buckner (Jennifer) and Adam Buckner (Rebecca). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
