He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Gardner and Dorothy Gardner (Sublett); his former spouse Shirley Gardner (Chaudoin); his wife Donna Gwin; his brothers, Gerald Gardner and Glynn Gardner; and his daughter Dana Gardner Scott.

He is survived by: his brother Gary Gardner (Debbie); his children, Rick Gardner (Nora) and Debbie Gillette (Rob); and his grandchildren, Jordan Chapman (Brett), Trevor Gillette (Rachel), Tanner Gillette (Kristen), Baylee Barger (Brock), Blake Gardner (Mattie), Grant Gardner and Alexa Gardner. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
