He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Hill and Myrtle Mae Cooper (Phillips); his daughter Mary Myrtle Cooper; his brothers, Lloyd Alva Cooper and Gene V. Cooper; and his nephew Ronnie Cooper.
He is survived by: his children, Virgil Lloyd Cooper and Regina Lynn Trantham (Richard); his granddaughter Sonya Michele Trantham; his niece Sandra Cooper; his great-niece Rhonda Koxlien; his great-nephew Rodney Cooper; and also, Courtney Fixico and Camrie Akers-Neff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children at Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jim McNair, Charlie Coker, Richard Trantham, Richard Healin, Charlie Hunt, and Richard Ahlskog.
