He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Marion Ashley and Frances Elizabeth Ashley (Staggs); his wife Thelma Ashley; his grandson David Elroy; his children-in-law, Tom Elroy and Cathy Ashley; and his sisters, Johnie Rean Archibald and Frances Chandler.
He is survived by: his children, Marolyn Bridges (Farrell) of Marlow, Suzie Elroy of Marlow, Rick Ashley (Johnnie Ruth) of Frisco, Texas, Denise Drake (Wayne) of Bartlesville, John Ashley (Suzanne) of Amarillo, Texas, Steve Ashley of Nashville, Arkansas and Tom Ashley (Miriam) of Pryor; and his siblings, Freida Litchford, Billie Faye Evans, Mary Litchford and Dennis Chandler. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
