She was predeceased by: her father-in-law Jimmy Poston; and her sister-in-law Jacy Poston. She is survived by: her parents, Woodrow Wilson "Bill" Carter and Linda Mae Carter (Sager); her husband Jimmy DeWayne Poston; her son Joshua Poston; her siblings, Jay Lawson, Jeffery Lawson, Stephen Carter, Dawn Carter Bernard, Dalana Carter Coria, Tammy Cardona and Elizabeth McGill; her siblings' children, Landon, Laymon, Shawn, Cameron, Logan, Seth, Ethan, Daisy, Kaylinda, Kristina, Sadie, Braiden, Jaiden and Paiden; her great-nephew Brody; and her great-nieces, Madie, Ema, Maggie, Kadance and Kennedy.
