It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Zelma Kirkpatrick Dowdy of Duncan, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 13, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Trammel Clayton and Sara Cornelius Pope (Martindale); her former husband John Wilson Kirkpatrick; her siblings, Clayton Pope, Autry Pope, Kenneth Pope, Frederick Pope, Pansy Barnes Edgeworth, Ada Mae Grant, Naomi Lewis, Evelyn Pyle and Frances Shores; her grandson Frank; and her great grandchild Hayden.
She is survived by: her husband Hubert Charles "Herb" Dowdy; her children, Brenda Ardoin, Barbara Morgan, Ronald G. Kirkpatrick of Iowa, LA, Cindy of Walters, OK, Sharon Trotter-Austin of Walters and Jerry Kirkpatrick of Temple, OK; and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Clayton, Kristi, Anisa, Ronnie, Brandy, Sarah and Michael. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; her longtime friend.
