In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Peggy leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Peggy may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dan Barnard and Julia Alice Barnard (Skiver); her husband David Shires; her son Glenn David Shires; and her in-laws, Glen and Dorothy Shires.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Joe Shires (Wendy) of Colbert, Steve Danny Shires (Debra) of Blue, Dorothy Diane Valentin (Sam) of Sherman, Rebecca Lynn Dupree (Ricky) of Colbert and Alice Kay Weger of Colbert; her sister Alice Roy of Pottsboro; and her daughter-in-law Becky Ann Shires. She is also survived by her 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Blue Baptist Church (70 Berry St, Durant, OK 74701).
