He is survived by: his mother Dorothy LaMae Gilpin; his wife Linda Gilpin; his children, Denise Tanner (Robert), Julie Cherry and David Gilpin (Sarah); his grandchildren, Cory Tanner, Morgan Tanner, Denver Gilpin, Kourtney Daylor, Colton Gilpin, Emma Cherry and Brooks Gilpin; and his siblings, Carol Wooden (Rusty), Anita Jones (Clyde) and John Matthew Gilpin (Christie).
