He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Dority Jr. and Betty Crow; his son Justin Pratt; and his brothers, Tommy, John and Elmer Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Chrystal Dority, Jeremy Pratt, Brandy Dority, Cana McGehee, Whitney Hendrix, Justin Dority, Alyssa Pratt, James Dority Jr., Jesse Dority, Jacob Dority and Alillian "Lilly" Dority; and his siblings, Belinda McCoy, Morgan Crow, William David Dority, Thressa, Nora and Sue. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
