He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Schmidt and Ella Buller Schmidt; his wife Arlyn Mininger; and his daughters, Starla and Ruth.
He is survived by: his children, Susan, Eugene Schultz of Fredonia, Judy, Sylvanus Peachey of Belleville, Randy, Grace Schmidt, Troy, Valerie Schmidt of Goltry and Earle Decker; his grandchildren, Nicole and Jason Schneider; his great grandchildren, Jackson and Andrea; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Kurt Holdeman, Jill and Alex Smith; his great grandchild Valentina; his grandchildren, Amber, Jake Hershberger, Lori Peachey, Shane, Kate Schmidt, Janae Schmidt, Joel and Danielle Schmidt; his sister Verla Johnson; and his parents-in-law, Ellen, Carl Kuepfer, Carol, Albert Koehn, Richard, Twila Mininger, Newell and Jane Mininger. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
