Kevin Carey McNamara Obituary

Kevin Carey McNamara, 90, a resident of Grove, Oklahoma passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Mr. McNamara was born on September 4, 1933, in Sharon Pennsylvania to Franklin and Marianne Elmange McNamara. Kevin was a veteran and proudly served in the United States Air Force earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He lived in the Grove area for 33 years. Prior to moving to Grove, he lived in Tulsa, Los Angeles, Queens, NY, and south of Buffalo, NY. Kevin was employed by American Airlines as a senior technical specialist for many years. In 1991. Kevin served in that role when American Airlines passenger jets transported deployed troops twice during Desert Storm. He retired in 1995 after 29 years of service.

Kevin enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing, golf, listening to country music, and going to concerts. He also was a great storyteller and an avid Nascar fan. Kevin was a member of the Fairland First Christian Church and a member of the Lions Club in Fairland.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, uncles, aunts, and other family members. Those left to share his memory are his wife, Sue Woods McNamara, of the home, his children Bill McNamara, Wendy McNamara, Julie Sheldon, Pam McNamara, Dan McNamara, his stepdaughter Charlotte Read, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Services will be held at First Christian Church in Fairland, Wednesday, Nov 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. and have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.
