He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Alfred and Lois Ethel Bennie (Harris); and his sister Delores Smith. He is survived by: his wife Lois Ann; his children, Jack Dunn of Cherry Log, Mike Dunn of Haskell, Ray Dunn (Christina) of Delta and Cynthia Couch of Bixby; and his siblings, Dee Couch (Barbara) of Haskell, Shirley Shepard of Bixby, Lyda "Catherine" of San Marco, Phyllis Franks of Sallisaw and Kay Harris of Thornton, Colorado.. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Landing in Thornton, Co. Once, having heard about Hurricane Katrina, Ben collected and hauled an entire trailer of donations from Thornton to the victims in Louisiana.
