He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vernon and Ruth Irene Pope (McAlester); and his wife Doris. He is survived by: his children, Renee Johnson (Les) and Wayne Pope (Regina) of LeFlore; his grandchildren, Josh Pope of LeFlore, Cody Johnson (Ashlee) of Wilburton, Kayla Pope Rees of LeFlore, Misty Renee Johnson of LeFlore, Johnny Paul Johnson of LeFlore and Makenzie Pope of LeFlore; his great grandchildren, Lexie Johnson of Whiteboro, Gunner, Joshlynn, Shawnna Pope of LeFlore, Gracie, Rich Rees of Bokoshe and Cody Jett Johnson of Wilburton; his friend Linnie Merryman of Red Oak; his siblings-in-law, Eddy Sasnett, Loyce McFerran of Tulsa, Geneva Bell and Jane Carter of Concord, CA; his uncle Clyde; and his aunt Betty McAlester of Summerfield. He is also survived by numerous other relatives & friends.
