He was predeceased by : his parents, Silas Copeland and Edna Copeland (Edwards); his brother Jearl Copeland; his father-in-law C. E. Shoemake; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Dickard, Rodger Benny and Becky Hasler.

He is survived by : his wife Jeanie Copeland; his sons, Michael Copeland (Bethanie) of Tahlequah and Ben Copeland (Lairen) of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Brittanie Sulzen (Robert), Bindie Copeland, Coil Copeland and Riata Copeland; his great grandchildren, Michael, Carolyn and Esther Sulzen; his siblings, Dale Copeland (Junie) of Bengal, Oklahoma, Wilma Martin (Travis) of Locust Grove, Naomi Mersdorf (Dennis) of Nampa, Lorene Alley (David) of Wilder, Rosella Dickard Benny of Sapulpa and Retha Grisham (Matt) of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; his mother-in-law Nelda Shoemake of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Shoemake (Lisa) of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Mernie Copeland of Hartshorne, Oklahoma and Malcolm Hasler of Mannford, Oklahoma. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
