He was predeceased by: his parents, C. W. "Chank" Powell and Marvelle Powell (Turney); his wife Reta; and his brothers, Wade Powell and Leon Ramsey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jeannie Powell, Sherrie Effinger (Bart) and Mickie Foris (Chris); his grandchildren, Joshua Effinger (Amanda), Shiann Johnson (Jake), Tyler Shann (Cherish), Masen Taylor (Ashton) and Dillon Foris; and his great grandchildren, Bethany Effinger, Addisyn Effinger, Rayleigh Effinger, Samuel Johnson, Mikah Johnson, Noah Johnson and Chase Shann. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers and plants, memorial donations be made to the Blue 97 FOP Foundation – Danny Kelley Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 1989, McAlester, Ok. 74502.
