He was predeceased by: his parents, James Oscar and Myrtle Alta Baker (Long); his wife Velma L. Baker; his children, Sharon K. Garrison and Jerry Leon Baker; and his siblings, Lorene Shaffer, Virginia Beshear, Jiles Baker and James Baker.

He is survived by: his sons, Randal Baker and Darrell Baker; and his siblings, Carl Baker, Ruth Vanoy, Pauline Burk and Georgianna Browder. He is also survived by six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
